We are a group of young Slovaks in Denmark who care about Slovakia. Slovak Danish Network is a voluntary association founded in March 2024, continuing the legacy of the Danish-Slovak Friendship Association, originally established in 1997 by a group of Slovaks and Danes.

Our goal is to create opportunities for students, professionals, and anyone interested in connecting with fellow Slovaks while exploring opportunities for growth in both Denmark and Slovakia. We are building a platform for the Slovak diaspora to foster an active, supportive, and inspiring community.

According to the Office for Slovaks Living Abroad, approximately 3,500 Slovaks reside in Denmark. Many of us moved here in pursuit of better opportunities and high-quality education, while others came to work and support their families. The life of an expat takes many forms, but we all share one thing in common—our understanding of "home" has changed. It expanded Denmark.

Following the closure of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Denmark in December 2024, we have become the only organization dedicated to uniting Slovaks in Denmark and cultivating a vibrant diaspora community.
